All-bidder observations, not unique projects or winning bids. Prices are historical USD per stated unit, without inflation or regional adjustment. The middle 50% is P25–P75, calculated with linear interpolation. Price summaries require at least 10 observations, 3 projects and 3 agencies per unit; smaller groups are omitted. Different sizes, materials and scopes can still vary within a unit. Outliers are retained. These are research comparisons, not construction estimates or quotes.

How to read these prices

The explorer searches usable normalized records by description, normalized item, material and category. Every query word must match a whole word; punctuation and inch notation are standardized. Filters narrow the same records. It does not infer missing material or scope.

One observation is one bidder’s unit price for one project item. Records marked unusable are excluded; valid outliers remain flagged. Price differences reflect date, quantity, depth, restoration, site conditions and bid strategy. The free sample is fixed across searches, filters and sorting; it may not contain a row for every matching query. Full distributions use all eligible matching records, grouped by unit.
