Privacy

A focused product with a limited data footprint.

This notice describes the DatasetPress website, optional analytics, Stripe Checkout, and protected-download flow.

Information you provide

The public site has no contact form, account registration, or comments. During checkout, payment and billing details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout page and handled under Stripe's privacy practices. DatasetPress does not receive full payment-card details.

Automatic information

Hosting and network providers may process ordinary technical logs such as an IP address, requested page, browser information, timestamps, and security events to deliver and protect the service. DatasetPress also prepares page-scoped product events such as product view, sample click, checkout start, verified purchase, and download. After Stripe verifies a completed payment, the verified purchase is reported to Google Analytics as a standard purchase event only when analytics has been allowed. These events stay in the browser unless analytics has been allowed.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics is off until you select Allow analytics. If allowed, Google may receive page and screen information, approximate location derived from an IP address, device and browser information, referring and outbound URLs, and DatasetPress product-interaction event names with product ID, SKU, price, currency, purchase status, and an order reference where applicable. DatasetPress disables Google advertising storage, Google Signals, and ad-personalization features. Google Analytics is not loaded when Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is active.

Your choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it. Use Privacy choices in the footer at any time to allow or withdraw analytics. Withdrawing removes accessible Google Analytics cookies from this site and stops further collection from that browser.

Cookies and secure delivery

The site uses browser storage to remember the analytics choice and, only with consent, the session search attribution described below. When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics may set first-party measurement cookies. Separately, DatasetPress sets short-lived, secure, HttpOnly cookies for checkout request protection and verified download access. A signed webhook journal stores only the Stripe event ID, Checkout Session ID, product SKU, paid status, subtotal, total, currency, and timestamps needed for idempotent fulfillment.

External services

Google processes analytics information only after consent, and Stripe processes checkout information. Source links and other external websites are governed by their own privacy practices. DatasetPress is not responsible for external sites.

Dataset privacy

DatasetPress focuses on public records, but public availability alone does not remove privacy considerations. Proposed releases are reviewed for sensitivity, appropriate scope, and responsible publication before data is made available.

Changes and questions

This notice may change as DatasetPress develops. Privacy and purchase questions may be sent to mickey@datasetpress.com or through the contact page.

Price explorer searches

Searches are sent to our server to retrieve aggregates and fixed samples. Please do not enter personal or sensitive information. Standard hosting logs may contain request URLs. The search rate limiter temporarily stores a salted hash of your IP address in a one-minute window; it does not store the raw address.

With analytics consent, we measure explorer visits, searches, no-result searches, sample views and full-dataset clicks. Search terms sent to analytics are restricted to a fixed construction vocabulary and common sizes; other words become “other”. We do not send arbitrary search text or agency filters. A session-only search attribution record connects these interactions to checkout and verified purchases in the same browser tab. It is cleared when you withdraw consent. Without consent, no search attribution is stored or sent to Google Analytics.
